GLORIOUS SERMON OF MOLA ABBAS A.S ON THE ROOF OF KAABAH

Glorious sermon of Mola Abbas (as) on the roof of Kaabah

Through the blessings of Masoomeen (asws) we are able to share with you this glorious sermon of Moula Abbas (as). Moula Abbas (as) delivered this sermon from the roof of the Kaaba on the 8th of Zil Hajj when Imam Hussain (asws) was departing Mecca to go towards Karbala. In just a few lines Moula Abbas (as) summarizes the reality of Ahlul Bayt (asws) along with the reality of the enemies (la) of Ahlul Bayt (asws). —
Moula Abbas (as) delivered this sermon on the roof of the Kaaba when Imam Hussain (asws) was departing from Mecca on the 8th of Zil Hajj 60 AH to go towards Karbala. “All praise is for Allah who honored Baitullah (house of Allah) with the arrival of the Father (Ali asws) of My Master Imam Hussain (asws). This house was nothing more than a house of stone before the appearance of Ameerul Momineen (asws). After Ameerul Momineen (asws) appeared in the Kaaba, it then became the qibla.
O’ wretched kafirs and oppressors! You are not allowing the Imam (asws) of the pious to visit the Kaaba. The one has the most right to do so. If it was not for the command of Allah and not for the unseen mysteries of Allah and if Allah had not willed that His creation would be tested, then this Kaaba would have uprooted itself and flown to My Master, but My Moula (asws) came here Himself and honored the Kaaba.
Verily, people kiss Hajr e Aswad (black stone) and Hajr e Aswad kisses the hands of My Moula (asws). The will of Allah is the will of My Moula (asws). The will of My Moula (asws) is the will of My Allah. I swear by Allah if it were not for this, then I would have attacked you the way the eagle attacks the sparrows. I would have cut you into pieces. Are you trying to compete with those who played with death during their childhood? Imagine! How brave must they be to do such a thing in their youth. May Allah sacrifice me upon My Moula (asws) who is the Master of the entire universe.
O’ people! What has happened to your intellect? Do you not recognize what is the difference between the family of the Prophet (saw) and the family of yazid (la)? On one side is the family of yazid (la) who drinks alcohol and on the other side is the Master and Owner of the Pool of Kauthar. On one side are people whose house is the incarnation of evil and impurity and on the other side are those who are the incarnation of purity and They are the owners of revelation and Quran.
You are repeating the same mistakes that the Quraish committed. They planned to kill RasoolAllah (saw) and you are planning to kill the Son of RasoolAllah (saw). The Quraish were not successful in their evil schemes because they could not overcome Ameerul Momineen (asws). Now how can it be possible for you to kill Abu Abdullah al Hussain (asws) when the Son of That Ali (asws) is the protector of the Son of RasoolAllah (saw)?
If you have the courage, then come and try to kill Me. Then you will be able to fulfill your evil desires. I swear by Allah as long as I am alive you will never be successful. May Allah send His wrath upon you, your fore- fathers, and your offspring! May Allah curse you, your forefathers, and your offspring!

Who is Hussain

No more than 50 years had passed since the death of Muhammad (the last Prophet of Islam) and the Muslim Empire was sliding into corruption under a tyrant from the Ummayad dynasty, Yazid.
Hussain ibn Ali, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad took a stand against Yazid’s illegitimate rule. Whilst Yazid was in equal parts feared and despised for his ruthlessness, Hussain was admired and respected by society at large. Mindful of this, Yazid decided that he would demand Hussain’s allegiance, hoping to gain some form of legitimacy for his inherited rule.

Hussain had a choice to make. To endorse Yazid would no doubt mean a handsome reward and a life of luxury. To refuse would invariably lead to his own demise. What should he do? What would you or I do? For Hussain the choice between the easy thing and the right thing was no choice at all.

Hussain refused.

He said: “I will never give Yazid my hand like a man who has been humiliated, nor will I flee like a slave… I have not risen to spread evil or to show off… I only desire to enjoin good values and prevent evil.
“I only desire to spread good values and prevent evil.”
– Hussain ibn Ali

The journey from Mecca to Kufa.
His life now under threat, Hussain decided to move himself and his family to Mecca in the hope that Yazid’s agents would respect the holy city. As he waited, pondering his next move, messages of support began to arrive from across the empire. He left for Kufa, a city in Iraq, but en route, he was intercepted by a battalion of Yazid’s soldiers, who blocked Hussain and his supporters from going towards Kufa and instead forcibly diverted towards the desert town of Karbala.

Once they reached Karbala, forces surrounded their small band and blocked their access to the water supply. With both camps stationed at Karbala, a stalemate ensued. Hussain had made it clear that he could not, and would not, bow to Yazid. The opposing forces of 30,000 soldiers, which vastly outnumbered Hussain’s small band of seventy-two men and their families, were under strict orders not to let Hussain leave.

After a week, word reached Hussain that Yazid had sent orders that he was not to be allowed to leave Karbala until he had taken an oath of allegiance. The end was drawing close.

The final stand of Hussain ibn Ali.
That night Hussain assembled his group, stressing to them that it was his life that Yazid wanted and that they might be able to escape. Again, Hussain’s selflessness shone through. There he stood, amongst his family and companions, all having been deprived of water in the scorching desert for three days, pleading with them to leave him and save themselves!

After a few days of this stalemate, the government forces were commanded to attack and kill Hussain and his companions. Hussain’s men were vastly outnumbered.  The hour for battle commenced, Hussain’s companions departed from their camp in small bands and one after the other – all fighting valiantly before being killed.

Throughout the day the forces of Yazid asked Hussain for his allegiance, yet Hussain resisted. Eventually Hussain was alone with no one left to support him. Fatigued, thirsty, and heavily wounded, Hussain fell to the ground as the women and children looked on.

He too was killed mercilessly, yet he died holding on firmly to his principles.

Hussain’s victory and inspiring legacy.
After his death, the women and children from Hussain’s party were taken captive. His sister, Zainab, took up the mantle of leadership of the small band, and gave speech after speech condemning the actions of Yazid and his government, culminating in a confrontation in the ruler’s own court. Zainab was perhaps the first person to be inspired by Hussain’s stand, using it as a catalyst for change. She refused to be subdued and put her fear to one side so she could hold to account those responsible for the moral decay of society.

Despite the pervasive sexism of society at the time, Zainab managed to lead and inspire both men and women. Hussain’s example, that one man can stand alone against an army of thousands, inspired her to the point where she castigated and berated a murderous dictator in his own palace, laying the foundations for the eventual overthrow of  the Umayyad dynasty.

Today millions of people pay homage to Hussain ibn Ali for his stand and annually mourn the tragic Battle of Karbala in which Hussain, his family and loyal companions were brutally killed one by one. Pilgrims from all walks of life visit the Imam Hussain shrine to pay their respects in the city of Karbala, Iraq.

19 zulhajj RUKHSATI OF BIBI FATIMA S.A

Zilhajj: Rukhsati of Bibi Fatima A.S
-
The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W.) said to Fatima:
"I gave you in marriage to the first one to adhere to Islam from my nation, he is also the most knowledgeable and most patient among them."

Bibi Fatima A.S is the most beloved daughter of Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W.W.She was the image of her father.Rasool S.A.W.W respected her to a great extent. He used to stand up and present her place to her.Rasool S.A.W.W said for her daughter:
"Fatima is the true splendor."

On the other hand,Imam Ali A.S is the cousin and closest one to Rasool S.A.W.W.He was the first to acknowledge the Prophethood. He remained side by side to the Rasool S.A.W.W at each and every moment whether it was the night of Hijrat or any war.For Imam Ali Rasool S.A.W.W declared:
"Your conduct and looks are similar to mine, and you are from the same tree from which I came."
"Ali is the best of my nation, most knowledgeable and most patient from among them"

God gave victory to Islam in the battle of Badr in the year 2 of Hijri. Two months after the battle,Bibi Fatima A.S and Imam Ali A.S got married.

When Bibi Fatima A.S grew up,two companions asked for her hand in marriage but Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W.W refused declaring:
"This matter of the marriage of Fatima, my daughter, is in the hands of Allah Himself, and He alone will select a spouse for her"

Two months after the battle of Badr, i.e., in the month of Zilqaad (the 11th month) of 2 A.H., Imam Ali A.S. called on Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W.W , and said:
"O Messenger of God, you have brought me up as your own child. You have overwhelmed me with your gifts, your generosity and your kindness. I owe you everything in my life. Now I seek one more kindness from you."

Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W.W understood and his face lightened up.Rasool S.A.W.W then informed his daughter who was very contented with Allah decision.

On the last day of Zilqaad (the 11th month), Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W.W, invited the Muhajireen and the Ansar, to attend a banquet, on the occasion of the marriage of his daughter. He obtained, once again, the formal consent of his daughter for her marriage with Ali ibn Abi Talib.

The Holy Prophet PBUH praised Allah, and thanked Him for all His mercies. He then read the sermon of marriage; declared Hazrat Ali A.S. and Bibi Fatima husband and wife.

A few days later, i.e., in Zilhajj (the 12th month),Bibi Fatima Zahra had to bid farewell to her parental home so she could go to the house of her husband.

Her father assisted her in riding his camel. Medina rang with the shouts of Allah-o-Akbar. Hazrat Salman Frasi held the reins of the camel, and walked in front of it, as he recited Quran.

Rasool S.A.W.W walked on one side of the camel, and Hazrat Hamza, on the other. All the young ones of Banu Hashim rode as escorts of the bride, with gleaming swords held high. Behind them were the Muhajir and Ansar women, and behind them came the Muhajireen and the Ansar themselves. They were reciting from Al-Quran al-Majid to the glory of God. The recitation of hymns was punctuated from time to time by thunderous shouts of Allah-o-Akbar.

They reached the house of Imam Ali A.S. Rasool S.A.W.W symbolically placed the hand of Bibi Fatima A.S. in the hand of her husband, and then, said the following prayer:
"O Allah! I commend Fatima and Ali, Thy humble slaves, to Thy protection. Be Thou their Protector. Bless them. Be pleased with them, and bestow Thy boundless grace, mercy, and Thy best rewards upon them. Make their marriage fruitful, and make both of them steadfast in Thy love, and Thy service."

The marriage life of the two is the role model for all followers.Bibi Fatima A.S.worked day and night to run the internal affairs of the house. She used to tire but never complained.Hazrat Ali helped his wife in house matters.

Allah gifted the couple with four children.Imam Hasan A.S.,Imam Hussain A.S. Bibi Zainab and Bibi Umme Kulsoom. The progeny of Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W.W was through Bibi Fatima. The last descendant of the aulad of imam Ali a.s. and Bibi Fatima(a.s.) is still alive and is in major occultation and would re-appear to fill the earth with justice and peace.

May Allaah hasten the re-appearance of Hazrat-e-Hujjat (a.t.f.s) and count us among his true followers.

History of Mubahila

Eid-e-Mubahila is celebrated on 24 Zulhijja to mark the famous event of 'Mubahila' which took place in the year 10 AH against the Christians of Najran. A delegation comprised of 60 Christians of Najran headed by Abdul Masih their chief monkpriest came to the Holy Prophet (pbuh&hp) and discussed with the personality of Hazrat Isa (as). The Holy Prophet (pbuh&hp) told them not to deify Jesus for he was only a mortal created by God, and not God Himself. Then they asked who the father of Jesus was. By this, they thought that since he was born without a father the Holy Prophet (pbuh&hp) would helplessly accept Jesus' father being God himself. In reply to this question was revealed the Verse:
"Verily, similitude of Jesus with God is as the similitude of Adam; He created him out of dust then said He unto him BE, and he became."
When the Christians did not agree to this line of reasoning, then this verse was revealed enjoining upon the Prophet (pbuh&hp) to call the Christians to Mubahila.
"And unto him who disputeth with thee therein after the knowledge hath come unto thee, Say ! (O' Muhammad!Unto them) come ye, let us summon our sons, and (ye summon) your sons, and (we summon) our women and (ye) your women, and (we summon) ourselves and then let us invoke the curse of God on the liars."

To this the Christians agreed and they wanted to return to their place and would have the Mubahila the next day. Early next morning the Holy Prophet (pbuh&hp) sent Salman al Farsi (May Allah be pleased with him) to the open place, fixed outside the city for the historic event, to erect a small shelter for himself and those he intended to take along with him for the contest. On the opposite side appeared the Christian prists, while at the appointed hour the Christians witnessed the Holy Prophet (pbuh&hp) entering the field with Imam Hussain (as) in his lap, Imam Hasan (as) holding his finger, and walking beside him, Hazrat Fatima (as) and followed by Imam Ali al Murtaza (as).

Looking at these holy personalities, the Chief Monk addressed the huge crowd of the people who had gathered on the spot, and addressed them saying:
By God, I see the faces which, if they pray to God for mountains to move from their places, the mountains will immediately move. O believers in the Jesus of Nazareth, I will tell you the truth that should ye fail to enter into some agreement with Muhammad (pbuh&hp) and if these souls whom Muhammad (pbuh&hp) has brought with him, curse you, ye will be wiped out of existence to the last day of the life of the earth !
The people readily agreed to the advice counseled by their Leader. They beseeched the Holy Prophet ( pbuh&f ) to give up the idea of the agreed Mubahila and requested for themselves to be allowed to continue their faith, offering to pay ' Jizya

History of Ghadeer e Khum

The 18th of Dhul Hijjah marks the symbolic occasion of Eid-ul-Ghadeer on the Islamic calendar. To this day, we recognise the date as being a day of change and progression on the path towards the further spread of Islam. The events that took their course on that day led to Imam Ali (A) becoming the successor to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as the leader of the Muslim believers of the time. Below is a brief summary of the events that unfolded on that one significant day.

The Holy Prophet alongside around a 100,000 of his followers arrived at a place by the name of Ghadir Khum, halfway between Mecca and Medina. They were on route to Medina after completing the Hajj pilgrimage for that year of 10 AH. The group were brought to a standstill whilst Allah revealed a verse to the Holy Prophet. It read, in Al  Ma-idah 5:67, “O our Messenger! Deliver what has been sent down unto you and from your Lord; and if you do not, then you have not delivered his message…” In this strong verse of authority, Allah was referring to the Holy Prophet declaring Imam Ali as his successor. Showing no signs of questioning, the Holy Prophet followed up by instantly mounting his pulpit.

He started his sermon off by asking his followers, “Have I conveyed the commands of Allah to you?” They replied as a sole unit, “Yes.” Following on, the Holy Prophet asked, “Do I wield authority over your souls more than you do?” Once again, as a group, his followers replied, “Certainly it is so, O messenger of Allah.” With no doubt in his mind, the Holy Prophet asked Imam Ali to come up. He held his hands high above the rest, and brought him high enough for all to see, and declared, “O men and women! Allah is my mawla. I am the mawla of the faithfuls. I have a clear authority over their souls, and of whomsoever I am the mawla, Ali is his mawla. O Allah! Love him who loves Ali, hate him who hates Ali.”

This great declaration on the Holy Prophet’s part was greeted with an honourable vow of allegiance from all who were observing. Male followers shook hands, whilst women placed their palms in water to show their own respective allegiance towards the man who they now knew would be their next leader. Even the likes of Umar, a man who later on became the khaliph, admitted, “Congratulations to you O the son of Abu Talib. You have become the Mawla of all the faithful men and women.” This declaration resulted in another verse being revealed in the Holy Qur’an. It was revealed in Ma-idah, 5:3, “This day I have perfected for you, your religion, and have completed my favour on you, and have chosen for you Islam, as religion.”

As firm as this declaration was, there are still, to this day, some who yet question the authenticity of the declaration of Ali becoming the future leader of the Muslims. The word mawla that was mentioned on a number of occasions by the Holy Prophet has become a means of critics attempting to question the Holy Prophet’s true meaning. The word mawla literally means master, lord or guardian. One who is deserving of superior authority.

With this announcement, The Holy Prophet officially declared Imam Ali as his successor. But to this very day, all these years on, there are still Muslims who deny Imam Ali as the leader of the Muslims, either through stubbornness or simple ignorance. It would have been unimaginable for someone in the league of the Holy Prophet to have passed away leaving no future successor to follow in his footsteps. Even in this modern day and age, every institution has a process in place to groom and appoint a successor after the exit of their current leader. Whether it be the head of a bank, or a manager of a football club, it has always been prevalent in society for a successor to be appointed in due course, to further build on the firm foundations that already exist. Likewise, it is more than obvious to see how the Holy Prophet would have known that his time was to come to an end, and therefore appointing Ali would not only have been a result of the order of Allah, but also through his own choosing. Being the wisest amongst all humans, such an act for him would most probably have been a matter of when rather than why.

In conclusion, it is clear to see how the events of Eid-ul-Ghadeer were enormous for the future of Islam, and how everything lied in the hands of the Holy Prophet’s appointment. Choosing Imam Ali as the leader was undoubtedly the correct choice, that led to the further spread of Islam, in a world where many were still unaware of the true word that was to be expressed through Islam and it’s teachings.
